Transparency International Kenya (TI-Kenya) welcomes the Court of Appeal’s decision to uphold the High Court ruling declaring the Parliamentary Service Commission’s (PSC) move to grant MPs a monthly house allowance of Kshs. 250,000 unconstitutional. This judgment reinforces the SRC’s authority to set and review remuneration, ensuring that public funds are managed transparently and in line with constitutional principles.
As an interested party in this case, TI-Kenya strongly advocated for the respect of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission’s (SRC) constitutional mandate to regulate state officers’ remuneration and ensure fiscal responsibility. We remain committed to promoting integrity in public service and safeguarding the interests of all Kenyans.
