Sheila Masinde

Executive Director

Sheila Masinde has 19 years’ work experience in anti-corruption, governance, programme management, media and outreach. She is currently the Executive Director of Transparency International Kenya (TI-Kenya), having served as Programmes Manager/Head of Programmes between 2015 and 2020. She joined TI-Kenya in 2014, as Research and Learning Manager, from BBC Media Action (British Broadcasting Corporation’s international development charity) where she was the Communications and Training Manager from 2012 to 2014. She first worked for Transparency International Kenya from 2009 to 2012 as the Advocacy and Communications Programme Officer. She has also worked at the Nation Media Group from 2006 to 2009 as a radio news presenter and online sub-editor, and I Choose Life Africa as Programme Trainer and Assistant Programme Manager working in Public Relations, Outreach and Monitoring and Evaluation departments between 2003 and 2006. She studied in Kenyatta University and the School of Journalism. She has served on the boards of I Choose Life Africa and Elimu Yetu Coalition.

Alice Njau

Chief of Party, USAID USAWA Program

Alice is a governance and democracy professional with over 20 years’ experience in managing programs in the areas of human rights, gender, elections, strengthening democratic institutions including political parties and civil society organizations, and accountable governance.

 

She has vast experience in program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation; research and advocacy, CSO capacity building in the form of sub grating, training, and providing technical support. Alice has a Master of Arts in International Studies from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Nairobi.

Dennilison Musau

MERLA Specialist, USAID USAWA Program

Dennilison Musau manages Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation functions as well as ensuring TI-Kenya products and services meet quality standards. He has five years of experience in Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation as well as Quality Assurance. Previously, he worked in the Water Sector Trust Fund as a Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation assistant officer. Dennilison is ISO 9001:2008/ ISO 9001:2015 trained Internal Quality Auditor and has practiced Quality Assurance for five years. He holds a Degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Nairobi and is currently pursuing Master of Arts in Project Planning and Management from the same University.

Samuel Komu

Project Officer

Samuel is a lawyer by profession with a passion for advocacy, human rights and community engagement. He was previously a volunteer with the Advocacy and Legal Advisory Center. Samuel has also been involved in social accountability initiatives such as social audits and budget tracking in the health and education sector aimed at influencing policies. Prior to joining TI-Kenya, he consulted with Kenya Water and Sanitation Network on governance issues in Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) & Water Resources Management (WRM) sector, civil society networking and use of Integrated Quality and Compliance system in project monitoring and evaluation.

Lilian Gathua

Project Officer

Lilian Gathua is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Certified Secretary with extensive experience in legal consultation, litigation, legal and legislative drafting, project management and partnerships development.  She is a member of the Law Society of Kenya and the Institute of Certified Secretaries of Kenya. She has experience working in both public and private sectors and has previously worked at Kiruki & Kayika Advocates and Murang’a County Assembly. She has also been a legal volunteer at Nafisika Trust. She is passionate about constitutionalism, good governance, rule of law, human rights and access to justice.

Janet Momanyi

Project Assistant, USAID USAWA Program

Janet Momanyi oversees operations at the TI-Kenya Administration docket. She has over 10 years’ experience in Administration, Marketing and Customer service. Previously, Janet worked as an intern at Rapids Camp Sagana, she has also worked at Kanunga Solfin Limited and GNLD International as a marketer. Janet joined TI-Kenya as a front office intern and was later promoted to front office assistant and currently serves as the Administration Officer. Janet is passionate about community service as she is a volunteer with the Rotaract club members and Kenya Scouts Association. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree with a specific major in marketing.

Paul Wambua

Project Officer, Public Finance Management Programme

Paul Wambua is a seasoned governance, public policy and public finance management professional with over 15 years of work experience. He holds a Degree in Government and Public Administration from Moi University and various certifications in Project Management, M&E, Fundraising Strategies and Advocacy. Paul is passionate in Economic policy and good governance.

Brian Kibira Wanjau

Project Assistant

Brian is a lawyer by profession with a passion for good governance, human rights advocacy, and civic engagement. He first joined TI-Kenya as a legal volunteer between July 2018 to December 2018 where he was involved in supporting various initiatives and program work. After his stint as a volunteer, Brian joined the firm of Wambugu and Muriuki Advocates as a Trainee Advocate where he was the point person in research and drafting of pleadings. Brian brings on board a wealth of expertise in legal research, training and capacity building, communication, and partners engagement. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in law from Moi University and has completed his Professional Diploma in law from the Kenya School of Law.  

Whitney Arthur

Procurement Consultant

Whitney holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) degree from St. Paul’s University. She has successfully completed a course in project management and is currently pursuing CPA at KCA University. Prior to joining TI-Kenya she served as a finance and accounts trainee at the National Council for Population and Development.

Kevin Kirimi Kinegeni

Finance Officer (Projects)

Kevin holds a Bachelor of arts Criminology and Security (Forensic Investigation) degree from Chuka University. He is currently pursuing MSC Commerce at KCA University. He is also a registered accountant and financial analyst. Prior to joining TI-Kenya he served as an accountant, financial analyst and risk and compliance officer at Village Hopecore International. Kevin has a passion for NGO sector with a keen interest in project management and monitoring.

Titus Gitonga

Deputy Chief of Party - USAID USAWA Program

Titus Gitonga is an experienced and innovative lawyer with a passion and dedication to good governance and human rights advocacy. He has over 8 years’ of experience in governance work. He first joined TI-Kenya as a legal intern between September 2013 – February 2014 and has subsequently served the organization in various capacities, including as a volunteer lawyer and consultant. He has also previously worked in private legal practice at Nyarango & Company Advocates and organizations such as Kituo cha Sheria, Kenya Water and Sanitation CSOs Network (KEWASNET) and the Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA-Kenya). He holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Kenyatta University and has completed his Professional Diploma at the Kenya School of Law.

Elizabeth Duya

Program Coordinator, Citizen Demand and Oversight

Elizabeth is an advocate of the High court of Kenya and Uganda. She has over 7 years’ experience in project management and planning and budget advocacy.  She has previously interned at the Commission on Administrative Justice and a private law firm in Kisumu. She is passionate on matters pertaining to women empowerment and the promotion of Gender Equity.

Rozzette Makundi

Project Officer

Rozzette is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, who is enthusiastic about the protection and advancement of human rights, respect for the rule of law, access to justice and policy development. He holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, School of Law and a post-graduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law and is currently pursuing a diploma in Project Management from the Kenya Institute of Management. Prior to joining TI-Kenya, he served as an Advocate trainee at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), where he was engaged on the intricacies involved in criminal practice and prosecutions in Kenya.

Lazarus Oyugi

Finance Officer

Lazurus holds a Bachelor of Business Management (Finance) Degree from Maasai Mara University, Financial Analysts Certificate from Corporate Finance Institute coupled with vast experience in Finance and Grant management.

Before joining TI Kenya, he was a finance assistant with Intersos Somalia. He has interned with Medisel Kenya limited as a Financial Analyst and Amref Health Africa in the RMNCAH and Global Fund Malaria projects.

Joshua Muteti Munyoki

Project Officer, Public Finance Management Programme

Joshua is an Enthusiastic Political Economist with experience in good governance and tax justice programmes. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Nairobi. He currently supports the development of strategies and interventions aligned to the successful implementation of projects, monitoring and documentation, and providing overall programme and logistical support to the Public Finance Management Programme.

Samuel Ogeda

Coordinator, Business Development

Samuel has over 13 years of experience in engaging businesses around shared value—a core business approach to drive sustainable impacts for both positive commercial and social outcomes. Prior to joining TI-Kenya, he was a team leader for the business development function at Zeneth Africa Consulting. He also led business development initiatives and supported capacity-strengthening programs at Pan African Institute of Management & Governance, and at Coca-Cola Beverages of Africa as a Resident Account Developer. Samuel holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management with a major in Marketing from Moi University coupled with a Diploma in Human Resource Management from the College of Human Resource Management and an Associate Member of IHRMK.

Ivy Nzilu

Project Assistant, Natural Resource and Climate Governance.

Ivy Nzilu serves as the Project Assistant, Natural Resource and Climate Governance Programme. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from United States International University-Africa majoring in Diplomacy, a minor in Environmental Studies, and is currently pursuing a diploma in Project Management from the Kenya Institute of Management.

Ivy is an environmental enthusiast who has worked in the political and development arena in Kenya focusing on good governance, democracy and extractives. Prior to joining TI-Kenya, she worked at Caritas Kitui as a programs support assistant under the Catholic Justice and Peace Commission department.

Brian Wabala

Project Assistant, Citizen Demand & Oversight

Brian Wabala is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Moi University and a Diploma from Kenya School of Law. Brian has also taken various Advanced Human Rights and Development courses at Pretoria University as well as the 2023 UN Regional Course in International Law for Africa. He is a public policy and good governance specialist with keen interest in Administrative law, International law and Human Rights, and International development issues.

Brian’s public policy and good governance experience includes community engagement to enhance citizen oversight initiatives, CSO capacity and partnership building, legislative research and policy advocacy to mainstream a culture of transparent and accountable leadership in the region. Previously Brian worked for KEPSA and IEBC.

Abrahams Misoi

Programmes Manager

Abrahams has over nine years of professional experience. He worked as an intern at World Vision Kenya then moved to a Project Coordinator’s position in the areas of Sponsorship, Food security, education, and Health and Sanitation. The Coordination was mainly designing programmes for all the projects, supporting the project officers in the implementation and monitoring and evaluation of the projects and reporting on the projects’ outcomes and outputs. Abraham joined TI-Kenya in July 2015 as a Convener in Humanitarian Aid Integrity Programme, Uwajibikaji Pamoja Project then became the National Convener, in charge of Uwajiabikaji Pamoja. The project is being implemented in 4 counties- Turakana, West Pokot, Marsabit and Wajir. Abrahams also worked as the Regional Coordinator, North Rift Region. He holds a BSc Agricultural Economics and MBA, Strategic Management.

Angela Kanja

Operations, People and Culture Manager

Angela is a dynamic professional with a diverse range of experience and skills in Human Resource Management. She is Certified by the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) and holds a higher diploma in HR management from the same institution. She holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from Kiriri Women’s University and is currently undertaking a Master of Science in Human Resource Management at Kenyatta University.

Laura Mulati

Communications and Advocacy Intern

Laura is a dynamic and accomplished professional with a diverse range of experiences and skills that have shaped her into a proficient advocate for change and engagement. Her journey of growth is marked by a series of impactful roles and educational pursuits, contributing significantly to her expertise in information science, communications, and media relations. Laura embarked on her academic journey at the University of Kabianga, where she pursued a Bachelor of Science in Information Science and Knowledge Management. Her four-year degree course specialized in communications, publishing, and media studies, providing her with a strong foundation in the realm of information dissemination and management.

Gerald Omumbo

Communications Officer

Gerald is a communications practitioner with over 7 years’ experience in developing and delivering communications and marketing strategies for international and local organizations. He has handled communications responsibilities at Act Change Transform (ACT!), AUA Industria LTD-Kenya and Uganda, and Pastoralist Community Initiative and Development Assistance (PACIDA). Gerald holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Kampala University-Uganda.

Wycliff Asiago

Administration Assistant

Wycliffe Asiago has over 10 years experience in the corporate sector, the most recent being Viscar Industrial capacity limited where he served as a logistics coordinator. He plans in conjunction with the administrator to facilitate all logistical activities and any other functions assigned for TI Kenya. He holds a certificate in Food Production from Institute of Commercial Management (ICM).

Alex Yator

Project Officer

Alex Yator has over eight years’ experience in Development initiatives, Resource mobilization, Research and Project management for local and international non-profit organizations. He joined TI-Kenya in 2018 as a Project Assistant and later as a Regional Officer- North Rift. Prior to joining TI-Kenya, Yator worked for Comitato Internazionale Per lo Sviluppo dei Popoli (CISP) as the Governance Program Technical Advisor. He has similarly worked for the International Republican Institute (IRI) as an Assistant Program Officer and the Institute for Education in Democracy (IED) as a Project assistant. He is tasked with strategically enhancing TI-Kenya’s presence and impact in the North Rift region through project initiatives aimed at empowering citizens to actively participate in the fight against corruption and demand for accountability. Alex has extensive experience in facilitation, team building and training. He is a certified Art of Hosting practitioner- a model for hosting effective conversations. A lawyer by training, Alex is passionate about policy, promotion of good governance in Kenya and sustainable peace and democracy. He is a law graduate of Moi University.  

Caroline Nyambura Giathi

Communications Officer

Caroline is a passionate communications enthusiast with a selfless ambition to enhance transparency through communication and advocacy. She has over 4 years’ experience of working with Journalists as well as engaging the mass media platforms in raising awareness. Caroline is focused with working with investigative journalists through mentorship programmes and determined to enhance the capacity of various journalists in investigative reporting, particularly through combining media and technology in monitoring use of public resources.  Through her expertise in partnerships and stakeholders’ engagement, she is keen to execute organization anticorruption events. Before joining TI-Kenya, Caroline worked with Kenya Society for the Protection and Care of Animals where she oversaw the planning and implementing various programs to help in promoting the fundraising activities as well as engaging the community in educating of animal rights. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Daystar University.

Ronald Adika

Project Assistant - Western Region

Ronald Adika holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with IT from Maseno University. He is an experienced professional with over 2 years of experience, in advocating for good governance, with a strong commitment to social justice and expertise in inclusive governance. He is dedicated to empowering the marginalized and creating positive change in their participation in the governance processes.

He has actively engaged with stakeholders, conducted research in budget advocacy and Public Finance Management and proposed policy recommendations to address systematic barriers faced by the marginalized in participating in the country’s governance processes. In addition, he has organized capacity-building initiatives and collaborated with diverse stakeholders to influence policy reforms.

Rosy Waruku

ICT Assistant

Rosy Waruku holds a degree in Informatics and Computer Science from Strathmore University. She joined TI-Kenya as a volunteer, where she recognized the importance of promoting transparency and accountability in today’s society and has keen interest in using technology to achieve this. Prior to joining TI-Kenya, she volunteered at the Kenya Society for the Protection and Care of Animals(KSPCA).

With a passion for technology, she has actively participated in various tech projects and has undertaken specialized courses in  networking, android development, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. This diverse knowledge base allows her to contribute valuable insights and expertise in her role within the ICT department, providing both user and technical support, as well as contributing to the development of digital platforms.

Anne Mwangi

Njeri Gathoga

Finance Manager, USAID USAWA Program

Njeri is an experienced Finance, Operations and Grants Manager with over 10 years’ experience in finance, accounting, and auditing.  Before joining TI-Kenya, Njeri worked in the private sector for a leading retail chain and in the ICT sector.  She has a wealth of experience in auditing and works to strengthen internal controls, ensuring that the systems, policies, and procedures underlying grant management are robust and fit for purpose. She currently oversees TI-Kenya’s Finance and Investment Department ensuring that resources are well and transparently accounted for in compliance with donor and regulatory requirements. She is a CPA finalist, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nairobi and is pursuing MSc Development Finance at KCA University. Njeri is passionate about the 2030 global agenda for sustainable development hedged on the SDGs towards an equitable future for all.

Lucky Philomena Mbaye

Project Assistant, Citizen Demand and Oversight

Philomena is a lawyer, currently undertaking the Advocates Training Program at the Kenya School of Law, following her attainment of a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL. B) from the University of Nairobi. She is also a Certified Professional Mediator (CPM).

With a keen interest in Human Rights, Policy, Democracy, and Governance, she is deeply invested in promoting equitable legal practices and advocating for social justice. Her professional journey includes valuable experiences from (Coulson Harney LLP) Bowmans Law and ENS Africa, where she developed a solid understanding of legal intricacies and demonstrated proficiency in navigating complex legal landscapes. Beyond her legal pursuits, Philomena actively engages in community service through volunteer work with local CSOs, aiming to extend her impact beyond the legal sphere and contribute meaningfully to societal progress.

Thomas Juma

Project Assistant, North-Rift Region

Thomas is a dynamic professional with a wide range of experience and skills in community mobilization, capacity development in governance, media engagement, networking and partnership development. In his new role, he shall be responsible for offering support to the North Rift Regional Office to ensure successful implementation of the projects and assisting in logistical tasks, data collection and documentation. Thomas holds a diploma in public relations, marketing and advertising from ICS college, diploma in project planning and NGO management from Cambridge universal college and diploma in film and television production from Alphax college.

Emily Atieno

Procurement Officer

Emily is a dynamic professional with a diverse range of experience and skills in asset management, vendor relations, process improvement, event management, procurement process and procedures, admin management, communication and interpersonal skills. In her role, she is responsible for all the procurement processes and procedures towards achieving the TI-Kenya’s strategic plan. Emily holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Africa Nazarene University. She is also a holder of certificate in facilitation skills and Diploma in Business Management.

George Kiondo

Finance and Investments Manager

George is a dynamic professional with a diverse range of experience and skills in financial and project management, couching and mentoring, monitoring and evaluation, financial reporting and procurement amongst others.

In his new role, is responsible for overseeing the work of finance, investments and business development towards achieving the TI-Kenya’s strategic plan.

Linet is a highly dynamic and versatile professional with extensive experience across various domains. She possesses a comprehensive skill set essential for effective project and organizational management. This includes expertise in Program Management and Reporting, ensuring strategic initiatives are designed and implemented to meet objectives with accurate reporting on outcomes. She excels in Coordination and Relationship Management, forging strong connections with stakeholders to drive collaboration and achieve shared goals.

She is responsible for implementing governance projects and working with communities and government with an emphasis on Land, Extractives and Energy towards achieving the TI-Kenya’s strategic plan.

Linet holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies (Community Development from Kenyatta University with a Diploma in Public Relations Management and Advance Certificate in Business Management from the Kenya Institute of Management. She’s currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Development Studies (Economic Planning)- thesis level at the Management University of Africa.

Anno Annet Andisi

Annet is a dynamic professional with a diverse range of experience and skills in community engagement and advocacy, training, strategy and policy development as well as project management.

She is responsible for offering support to the North Rift Regional Office to ensure the successful implementation of the projects and documenting of legal aid cases for walk-in and call-in clients towards achieving the TI-Kenya’s strategic plan.

Annet holds a Bachelor of Bachelor of Political science and Public administration from Kisii University.

Jane is a finance and grants specialist with a Master of Science in Organizational Development, Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and CPA (K). She has over 15 years’ of experience in strengthening organizations ‘capacities for sustainable program delivery through integration of best grants and financial management practices and compliance with different donor rules and regulations including USAID, UKAID, DANIDA, GCERF, SIDA and EU among others. She has served as the grants management technical lead at Faith To Action Network and Act Change Transform.
