Transparency International Kenya Joins CSOs to File A Petition to Protect the Constitution and Public Resources

Transparency International Kenya, Katiba Institute, and civil society partners have filed a petition challenging the National Assembly’s attempt to amend the Constitution.

The petition raises two major concerns:
1️⃣ The proposed Bill is unnecessary and goes against the principles of responsible public spending.
2️⃣ Some proposed changes require a national referendum — yet Parliament has failed to enact a referendum law for 14 years.

This petition is a call to protect the Constitution from misuse and ensure that any amendment process is transparent, lawful, and in the public interest.
