Statement by Transparency International Kenya on the #NaswaGateScandal Report

Nairobi: Tuesday, 1st August, 2017: Our attention has been drawn to a report circulating on social media under the hashtag #NaswaGateScandal. This report is not by or from TI-Kenya and has not been authored by anyone associated with TI-Kenya.

We condemn in the strongest terms possible the use of Transparency International and Transparency International Kenya’s names and logo to spread propaganda for seemingly political mileage. TI-Kenya remains politically neutral as guided by its core values, and does not lean towards any political formations. All our reports and statements can be found on our website www.tikenya.org.

We have contacted the relevant authorities to investigate this criminal act and hope that the culprits will be found and punished.
