Strengthening Electoral Accountability and Inclusivity Project (SEAIP)

The Strengthening Electoral Accountability and Inclusivity Program (SEAIP) is a project implemented by a consortium of 5 partners; ELGIA (lead), CMD, FIDA and TI-Kenya. The project runs over a period of 2 years and seeks to support key government institutions, systems and processes instrumental to the general elections. The project will support them in capacity enhancement, policy, legislative and institutional reforms, knowledge creation, oversight and campaign monitoring. Each partner in the consortium will implement a specific thematic area based on the project’s different objectives. TI-Kenya will focus on the 2nd objective which is “To monitor and advocate for enforcement and compliance with election laws, campaign finance law and chapter-6 of constitution”. To achieve this, TI-Kenya will emphasize the building of linkages and collaboration between electoral institutions and vetting agencies to harmonize vetting procedures, advocate and lobby for implementation and review of election campaign financing laws, and promote implementation of chapter 6 in the clearing election candidates.
