Democracy, Governance and Human Rights Project
The Democracy, Governance and Human Rights Project which is funded by the Embassy of Sweden through Diakonia Kenya aims to strengthen accountability and independence of governance structures and institutions at both national and local levels, and to promote an inclusive, cohesive and accountable society through increased citizen engagement in governance process.
TI-Kenya is responding to outcome areas on: Improved transparency, accountability and inclusivity in service delivery at the national and county level, Responsive, accessible and independent delivery of justice, and Improved consensus and legitimacy in electoral processes and outcomes. This will be undertaken through engagements with the National Police Service – training of police officers and disseminating information about the accountability mechanisms within the service (IAU), update of the Rada database and drafting and adopting vetting tools for the upcoming elections.
